Chairman PBTE, Dr Muhammad Shafique while talking to Business Recorder said that first seminar of this series was held in Islamabad on November 19 and the second seminar of this series held on November 27 in Multan while the third seminar will be held on December 3 in Lahore.
Dr Shafique said that employable work force is the backbone of the economy of the country and plays an important role in poverty alleviation and will lead the country towards prosperity. While giving the details of these seminars Shafique said that these seminars will be attended by nearly 250 participants from 300 short listed private TVET institutes affiliated with PBTE.
He said that through the series of seminars, PBTE intends to take on board the owners and mangers of TVET institutions in promoting the importance of TVET. The promotion of TVET would also create more business opportunity for the TVET institutions as well. This training may serve as a paradigm shift for them and would also trickle down to the students and parents in changing their mindsets in adopting TVET track rather than adopting general education track. The degrees of general education track also have no market and after completing these degrees students remained unemployed.
While talking about the expected out comes of these seminar Dr Shafique said that participants would become aware of the significance of the TVET for the development of the country. They would become fully aware that the promotion of TVET is not only beneficial for their business but also for the socio-economic development of their country. They would become ready for healthy competition for the delivery of TVET in terms of providing high quality and more relevant TVET, making investment on their infrastructure, labs and human resources, preparing TVET graduates for the job market in line with labour market demands and playing an active role in designing, developing, managing and evaluating TVET activities.
